“In Tune’s specially curated playlist: today inspired by composers and artists from Argentina. Starting with one of the dances from Ginastera's "Estancia" which celebrates the life of the gauchos, we move on to a guitar piece by Argentine composer and guitarist Eduardo Falú. Then a tango inspired by Buenos Aires, music by Carlos Gardel, the musicians here including the Argentina-born pianist Daniel Barenboim. The famous aria from Puccini's "Tosca", "E lucevan le stelle" is sung by José Cura, followed by Ariel Ramirez' moving song "Alfonsina and The Sea". Ravel's virtuosic "Feria" from "Rhapsodie Espagnole" is performed by Argentinian brother and sister piano duo Sergio Tiempo and Karin Lechner. And we close with Astor Piazzolla - his tango-inspired "Fuga y misterio".”
