Classical music inspired by the Epiphany
Episode m000cz31, broadcast at Wednesday 6th January 2021, 7:00pm, and Monday 6th January 2020, 7:00pm.
“The decorations have been taken down, the pavements are strewn with abandoned, naked Christmas trees, and the long, cold and dark winter evenings stretch bleakly ahead, but the nativity story has one more chapter before we move on. Immerse yourself in half an hour of uninterrupted music inspired by the Epiphany, when the Magi, (Wise Men) or the Three Kings visit the child in the manger and present him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Music includes seasonal favourites We Three Kings, Warlock's Bethlehem Down and Cornelius's The Three Kings, as well as music by Duke Ellington, Respighi, and Hans Zimmer's score for The Simpsons Movie, posing the question "What's an epiphany?" Producer: Helen Garrison”
