“Pianist Katia Labèque curates a special edition of the In Tune Mixtape featuring music that she loves, including pieces she plays in duo with her sister, Marielle. Among them, Bryce Dessner's Concerto for two pianos, written for them; Miles Davis' In a Silent Way; Osvaldo Golijov's Nazareno, again played by the Labèque sisters; Giovanni Antonini performing Vivaldi's flute concerto La Tempesta di mare; David Chalmin's Garden of Memories, from his album Innocence; Philip Glass' The Somnambulist from Les enfants terribles, arranged for piano duo; Mahler's 4th Symphony, conducted by Semyon Bychkov; the mesmerising voice of Lhasa de Sela and her song 'I'm Going In'; Underwater by The National, and The Smile with Free in the Knowledge. Producer: Juan Carlos Jaramillo Katia and Marielle Labèque appear on August 5th performing Martinů's Concerto for Two Pianos, as part of Prom 26, which also features Semyon Bychkov conducting the UK premiere of Julian Anderson’s Second Symphony and Rachmaninov’s Symphonic Dances.”
