The perfect classical half hour
Episode m001wyz3, broadcast at Wednesday 13th March 2024, 7:00pm.
“Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical music, which starts today with a duet for organ by CPE Bach, followed by Schumann's 'Dream's Confusions' and Warlock's setting of the medieval poem 'I saw a fair maiden'. There's 'Evening Magic' for baritone, horns, and chorus from Bruckner, and Anna Phoebe takes us out to sea and 'Beyond Horizons'. The sound of waves crashing leads into Britten's evocation of dawn on the ocean, to end the mixtape on a note of calm. Produced by Rachel Gill”
