Time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical favourites
Episode m001yr8d, broadcast at Thursday 9th May 2024, 7:00pm.
“This classical soundscape features the rumbustious Dance of the Comedians from Smetana's opera The Bartered Bride, a sprightly Fantasia by Orlando Gibbons, reflective waltz music from Beethoven and Alison Balsom on trumpet in the Pas de Deux from Bernstein's On The Town. Also in the mix is Florence Price's jaunty Nimble Feet, Ravel's melancholic Pavanne for a Dead Princess and a beautiful chorale from Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo. Producer: Ian Wallington”
