30 minutes of classical inspiration
Episode m002j6jn, broadcast at Wednesday 17th September 2025, 7:00pm.
“Find new inspiration with a 30-minute tasting menu of classical music, thoughtfully mixed for a seamless listening experience. This edition of Classical Mixtape opens with music from Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite before launching into Steve Reich's energetic Nagoya Marimbas, which in turn leads into one of Ludwig van Beethoven's most famous piano works, Für Elise. At the heart of the mixtape is the breathtaking Urlicht movement of Gustav Mahler's second symphony, in a beautiful recording by Jessye Norman with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. We also hear works by Clara Schumann and Frederick Delius before the mixtape concludes with a pair of serene choral works, composed by Frank Ticheli and Aleksandr Grechaninov. Producer: Christina Kenny”
