Half an hour of the finest classical music
Episode m002jgcc, broadcast at Friday 26th September 2025, 7:00pm.
“Half an hour of back to back classical music to help you wind down after a busy day. Today's mix begins with the haunting sound of a Kokle, a 33-string table harp from Latvia. Mozart's uniquely beautiful writing for oboe and string quartet continues the restful mood, followed by a familiar folk tune given a lush orchestral treatment by Frank Bridge, a stately Sarabande by J.S. Bach, and Rachmaninov's eternally poignant Vocalise. The sequence ends with a melodic violin work by William Grant Still, and an ethereal choral work for upper voices by Taylor Scott Davis. Producer: Helen Garrison”
